Planned & Break-down Maintenance Technician (Mechatronics)

About the role

We are looking for a Planned & Break‑down Maintenance Technician (Mechatronics) to ensure the reliable operation of our production lines at Ultimum Limited in Abia, Nigeria. The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance of machines, conveyors, utilities and related electrical and communication systems.

Key responsibilities

• Execute all maintenance tasks safely, adhering to safety rules and procedures.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance and respond to breakdowns to keep equipment running on‑time.
• Carry out machine start‑up and shut‑down operations, ensuring availability for production and maintenance.
• Participate in improvement teams to boost equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR and reduce maintenance costs.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and BD analysis to prevent recurring failures.
• Inspect and diagnose utility plants (air, water, steam, CO₂) and related equipment.
• Document all maintenance activities and performance data in SAP PM and other systems.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance staff to schedule and coordinate work.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in production and maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Technical education such as NABTEB or WAEC Technical qualification.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) for work order management.
• Mechanical maintenance of production machinery and conveyors.
• Electrical and communication system troubleshooting.
• Utility plant diagnostics (air, water, steam, CO₂).
