About the role
Volunteer position to design and develop professional PCB schematics and layouts, supporting the engineering team from concept through production.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop PCB schematics and layouts based on electrical requirements.
- Create and manage component libraries, footprints, symbols, and 3D models.
- Perform component placement, routing, layer stack‑up, power and signal routing while considering electrical, thermal and mechanical constraints.
- Conduct Design Rule Checks (DRC), Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews and prepare manufacturing documentation such as Gerber/ODB++ files, drill files, BOMs and assembly drawings.
- Support prototyping, testing, troubleshooting and iterate designs with the engineering team.
Required skills
- PCB schematic capture and layout design.
- Component library creation (footprints, symbols, 3D models).
- Design Rule Check (DRC) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) expertise.
- Generation of Gerber/ODB++ files, drill files, BOMs and assembly drawings.
- Experience with PCB prototyping, testing and troubleshooting.
