MEP Commissioning Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced MEP Commissioning Engineer to lead the commissioning of mechanical, electrical and specialist systems across our new estate development in Lagos. The role involves planning, testing, and certifying all building services to ensure seamless handover and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the commissioning programme for all MEP systems across all blocks and estate infrastructure.
• Commission and test mechanical systems including plumbing, drainage, HVAC, water treatment and sewage treatment plants.
• Commission and test electrical systems such as LV distribution, lighting, power, metering, generator automatic transfer switch and solar power.
• Commission and test specialist systems including CCTV, access control, fire alarms and IT/communications infrastructure.
• Produce commissioning certificates for each building system and block upon successful completion.
• Coordinate witnessing programmes with the MEP consultant, client representatives and statutory bodies.
• Compile commissioning records into the Operations and Maintenance Manual, ensuring all certificates, test results and equipment data sheets are complete.
• Support Certificate of Occupancy applications with required commissioning documentation.
• Generate and issue defect and snagging lists for all MEP systems identified during commissioning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; COREN registration preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of MEP experience, with at least 4 years in building services commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of commissioning procedures for all MEP disciplines.
• Experience preparing Operations and Maintenance Manuals and supporting Certificate of Occupancy applications.
• Membership of NSE is an advantage.
