Loan Officer - Microfinance

About the role

Bosak Microfinance Bank Ltd., which lends directly to small traders and entrepreneurs, is hiring a full-time, on-site Loan Officer in Lagos State, Nigeria. The Loan Officer assesses loan applications, evaluates customers' financial status and recommends lending solutions in line with the bank's policies.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct credit assessments, perform KYC checks and verify documentation.
• Evaluate customers' financial status and prepare loan proposals for approval.
• Manage loan origination from first client contact through disbursement, monitor loan performance and follow up on repayments.
• Provide high-quality customer service, educate clients on financial products and keep accurate records for reporting and compliance.

Required profile

• Strong loan origination and Loan Officer experience, including end-to-end management of the lending process.
• Solid foundation in finance and underwriting, able to analyse financial statements and assess creditworthiness.
• Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to build trust and explain products clearly.
• Knowledge of microfinance lending practices and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
• Relevant degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related field; credit or microfinance certification is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Lagos, manage several cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
