Head, Finance & Account

About the role

Protergia Nigeria Limited is looking for a Head, Finance & Account to lead the finance function in Abuja. The role covers financial strategy, budgeting, management accounts, project finance for renewable energy projects and grant-funded work, and treasury and cash-flow management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company's financial strategy, advise the CEO and management, and build long-term plans, forecasts and financial models
• Lead annual budgeting, prepare project budgets for mini-grid, solar and other renewable energy projects, and maintain rolling cash-flow forecasts
• Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow statements, and quarterly and annual reports
• Manage project finance: build project models, analyse CAPEX and OPEX, review procurement, track expenditure and profitability, and prepare reports for management, investors, lenders and donors
• Support grant and donor-funded projects: monitor grant budgets, disbursements and restricted funds, and liaise with project teams
• Manage daily cash position, bank balances and reconciliations, and monitor receivables and payables

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
• MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline
• Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience in renewable energy, power, infrastructure, utilities, energy access or project-based businesses
• Experience managing donor-funded projects, project finance, financial modelling and working with investors, lenders or development finance institutions
