Legal Associate - Corporate and Commercial

About the role

Magnum Legal Solutions is hiring a Legal Associate in Lagos (Marina) to advise clients on corporate, commercial, transactional and regulatory matters. The role covers contract work, due diligence, regulatory compliance and managing corporate and commercial transactions from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on corporate, commercial, transactional and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on contracts, agreements, corporate documents and legal opinions.
• Conduct legal research, due diligence and risk assessments for transactions and client advisory work.
• Manage corporate and commercial transactions from inception to completion.
• Liaise and negotiate with clients, counterparties, advisers, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Manage statutory filings and corporate regulatory compliance.
• Oversee the execution and implementation of agreements and transaction documents.
• Maintain accurate transaction records and client files, and manage multiple matters within agreed deadlines.
• Keep up with relevant legal, regulatory and industry developments and perform other duties assigned by the Managing Partner.

Required profile

• LL.B. from a recognised university.
• Called to the Nigerian Bar and in good standing.
• Relevant post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial practice; M&A experience is an added advantage.
• Experience in contract drafting and negotiation, corporate advisory, transactions, due diligence and regulatory compliance.
