Legal Associate – Corporate & Commercial Law

About the role

We are seeking a commercially astute Legal Associate with strong experience in corporate and commercial matters. The role involves advising clients on commercial transactions, drafting and negotiating contracts, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on corporate, commercial, transactional, and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on contracts, agreements, corporate documents and legal opinions.
• Conduct legal research, due diligence and risk assessments to support transactions.
• Manage corporate and commercial transactions from inception to completion.
• Liaise and negotiate with clients, counterparties, advisers, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Oversee statutory filings, corporate regulatory compliance and the execution of agreements.

Required profile

• LL.B. from a recognised university and called to the Nigerian Bar in good standing.
• Relevant post‑qualification experience in corporate and commercial practice.
• Strong corporate and commercial legal knowledge with excellent drafting and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
