Junior Strategy Consultant - Business Advisory

About the role

A reputable consulting firm is recruiting a Junior Strategy Consultant to support strategy advisory, business transformation and performance improvement engagements. The role covers strategy development and execution from diagnosis to implementation planning, and is not an entry-level research position; candidates need practical experience supporting strategy, transformation, business advisory or corporate planning assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Support corporate, business unit and functional strategies, including diagnosis, option development, execution planning and performance tracking
• Help design implementation roadmaps, KPIs, governance structures and execution monitoring frameworks
• Conduct industry, market, competitor, customer and regulatory research, and apply tools such as SWOT, PESTLE, Porter's Five Forces, value chain and business model analysis
• Analyse financial, operational and commercial data and turn it into clear insights
• Support stakeholder interviews, surveys, focus groups and workshops, and prepare interview guides, presentation decks and session outputs
• Support client meetings and presentations under the guidance of senior team members
• Manage projects from initiation to close-out, including workplans, status reporting and documentation
• Support proposals, expressions of interest, capability statements and bid preparation
• Use digital transformation, automation and AI tools responsibly to support research, analysis and document drafting

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Management, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Statistics, Data Analytics, Public Policy, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is an added advantage
• At least 5 years of relevant experience is preferred in strategy consulting, management consulting, business advisory, corporate strategy, transformation or performance improvement
• Experience in a consulting firm, Big 4 advisory practice, strategy boutique, corporate strategy function or transformation office is strongly preferred; McKinsey, BCG, Bain or similar is an added advantage
• Experience across sectors such as financial services, public sector, energy, telecoms, technology, manufacturing, infrastructure or development institutions is an advantage

Required skills

• Strong problem-solving, research and analytical skills, and ability to write structured arguments and reports
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
• Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, data analytics tools, project management tools or AI productivity tools is an added advantage
• Relevant certifications in strategy, project management, business analysis, data analytics, digital transformation, finance or management consulting are an advantage
