IT Audit Specialist – Internal Controls & Governance

About the role

The IT Audit Specialist will support the Team Lead, IT Audit – ICFR, in ensuring that all IT processes comply with Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) standards. This role promotes transparency, good corporate governance, and effective risk management across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing IT ICOFR testing throughout the year.
• Analyse risks in IT processes, assess internal control effectiveness, and maintain the Risk and Control matrix.
• Support development of continuous monitoring audit programmes and ICFR awareness training.
• Conduct testing of IT infrastructure, data controls, integrity checks, and audit trails.
• Coordinate with external auditors for certification and maintain a dashboard of control failures.
• Implement data‑analysis tools to improve audit efficiency and evaluate IT security controls.

Required profile

• First degree in Computer Science, IT or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• 5‑10 years of IT audit experience, preferably across multiple industries.
• International work experience is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of networking systems, computer databases, and accounting principles.
• Knowledge of COSO, COBIT, and internal audit standards.

Required skills

• Certification: CISA, MCSE, CISSP, CFE or CITP (at least one required).
• Experience testing COBIT, GITC and SAP automated controls.
• Proficiency with audit tools and data‑analysis techniques.
• Knowledge of internal control frameworks (COSO, COBIT).
