Bioinformatics / Computational Genomics Expert (Remote Contractor)

About the role

ZettaMine is seeking experienced Bioinformatics and Computational Genomics experts to design and evaluate AI-driven genomics tasks. This short‑term remote contractor assignment focuses on creating realistic, multi‑step computational biology problems for AI evaluation.

Key responsibilities

• Design challenging model‑evaluative tasks using real genomics data (FASTA, VCF, BAM, etc.) and Python‑based pipelines.
• Develop reproducible workflows, reference solutions, and grading criteria for AI/LLM systems.
• Create clear task specifications, input datasets, expected outputs, and deterministic ground truths.
• Validate scientific correctness of tasks and ensure they are solvable with provided information.

Required profile

• Ph.D., postdoctoral experience, or equivalent research background in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or related field.
• Strong hands‑on programming experience in Python and comfortable working in Linux/command‑line environments.
• Ability to work independently, commit full‑time (40 h/week) with at least 4 h overlap with PST.
• Immediate availability and reliable high‑speed internet.
