Fabrication Workshop Lead

About the role

The Fabrication Workshop Lead will manage all metal‑fabrication activities for oil & gas projects, ensuring delivery of pipelines, structural steel, pressure vessels, skids and modular assemblies to the highest industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee fabrication of steel structures, piping spools, supports, skids, pressure vessels and modules, ensuring compliance with API, ASME, ANSI and ASTM codes.
• Plan and coordinate workshop schedules, allocate manpower, machines and tools across welding, fitting, cutting, bending and assembly sections.
• Work closely with QA/QC teams and third‑party inspectors to manage inspections, testing, documentation and NCR closure.
• Enforce QHSE protocols, manage hot‑work permits, PPE usage and lead incident investigations.
• Monitor material consumption, scrap, rework rates and equipment maintenance to control costs and downtime.
• Maintain fabrication logs, material traceability reports, weld maps and production progress charts, and produce regular reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience in high‑spec metal fabrication for upstream/downstream oil & gas projects.
• Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (API, ASME, AWS, ISO 9001).
• Ability to lead workshop teams, manage resources and ensure safety compliance.
