Corporate Credit Analyst – Associate Level

About the role

Our client, a multinational financial services institution, is seeking an associate‑level Credit Analyst to join its Lagos office. The role focuses on assessing credit risk for Nigerian corporates, sub‑national entities and non‑bank financial institutions, and becoming a recognised authority on the assigned portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Write in‑depth, high‑quality research on credit trends, producing thought‑leading reports on corporates, sub‑national bodies and non‑bank financial institutions.
• Perform fundamental credit analysis on a portfolio of Nigerian corporates, sub‑nationals and non‑bank financial institutions and present findings to rating committees.
• Develop and apply detailed credit rating methodologies, ensuring ratings remain accurate and forward‑looking.
• Monitor market developments and maintain relationships with fixed‑income investors, financial media and senior corporate management.
• Operate independently while collaborating with the analytical team to enhance the corporate franchise and outreach.

Required profile

• Strong academic background equivalent to a BSc in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of credit/risk assessment experience, preferably from an investment bank, corporate, financial institution, regulator or public accounting firm.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CFA or CIMA is highly beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
