Accountant

About the role

Great Hayden Vineyard Services Limited is hiring a full-time Accountant based in Lagos, Marina. The role covers day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, payroll and statutory compliance, with a focus on logistics, freight and shipping transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers and accounting documents.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable, and reconcile bank, cash, customer and supplier accounts.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, cash flow forecasts and expenditure reports; process invoices, receipts and payment vouchers.
• Manage payroll, staff allowances, deductions and statutory contributions.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws, including VAT, withholding tax and PAYE.
• Monitor logistics-related transactions such as freight charges, clearing expenses and customs duties, and liaise with banks, auditors, tax authorities and suppliers.
• Conduct periodic financial reviews, establish internal financial controls and perform other finance duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• ICAN, ACCA or another recognised professional accounting certification is an added advantage.
• Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, shipping or supply chain accounting is an advantage.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation and statutory compliance in Nigeria.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and accounting software.
• Analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and integrity.
