Workshop Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our automotive service centre in Lagos. The role involves planning, coordinating and supervising all workshop activities, ensuring compliance with Toyota OEM standards, and delivering high‑quality service to both company fleet and third‑party customers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise vehicle servicing, repairs, diagnostics and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor workshop productivity, manage job turnaround times and conduct final quality inspections.
• Lead, mentor and allocate work for technicians, auto electricians, panel beaters and support staff.
• Perform advanced diagnostics and provide technical guidance on complex mechanical and electrical issues, using Toyota Techstream.
• Oversee preventive maintenance schedules for company fleet and customer vehicles.
• Manage workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, spare‑parts inventory and budgets, ensuring cost‑effective utilisation.
• Liaise with operations and clients on vehicle status, service schedules and warranty claims.
• Implement health, safety and environmental policies and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of hands‑on experience in automotive workshop operations.
• Minimum 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role within an automotive service environment.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Advanced automotive diagnostics.
• Proficiency with Toyota Techstream and other Toyota diagnostic equipment.
• Vehicle repair and maintenance across Toyota models (Land Cruiser, Prado, Hilux, Hiace, Coaster, Camry, Fortuner).
• Preventive maintenance scheduling.
• Workshop inventory and spare‑parts management.
• Budget preparation and cost‑control.
• Health, safety and environmental compliance.
