Upholstery Carpenter

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Upholstery Carpenter to join our hotel maintenance team in Lagos. You will be responsible for building, repairing, and refurbishing wooden and upholstered furniture used throughout our properties, ensuring a high standard of comfort and appearance.

Key responsibilities

• Construct, assemble, and install wooden frames for chairs, sofas, beds, stools, and tables.
• Upholster new pieces using fabric, leather, vinyl, foam and other approved materials.
• Repair and restore damaged furniture, replacing wood components, springs, cushions and upholstery.
• Re‑cover worn or damaged items while maintaining finish quality.
• Measure, cut, shape, sand, polish, stain, paint or varnish wood as required.
• Operate woodworking and upholstery equipment safely and perform routine maintenance.
• Inspect completed work for quality and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Housekeeping and Facilities teams to respond to service requests.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• SSCE qualification or equivalent.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work in a workshop environment.
