Team Lead, Deal Origination & Client Coverage (Investment Banking)

About the role

The Team Lead, Deal Origination & Client Coverage will drive transaction origination and deepen client relationships for a leading investment banking group in West Africa. Reporting to the Head of Origination and Client Coverage, you will work at the intersection of corporate finance, capital markets and wealth creation, influencing high‑impact deals across Nigeria and Ghana.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, develop and execute transaction opportunities across multiple sectors.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of high‑quality prospects and mandates.
• Source and secure transactions for various business units.
• Engage directly with C‑suite executives, business owners and institutional investors.
• Lead business‑development initiatives that generate revenue and expand market presence.
• Collaborate with internal teams across investment banking, asset management, securities trading and wealth services.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in investment banking or related financial services.
• Strong network within the Nigerian corporate landscape.
• Proven track record of originating and closing complex transactions.
• Exceptional relationship‑management and commercial acumen.
• Executive‑level communication and negotiation skills.
