Supermarket Manager

About the role

The Supermarket Manager will lead daily operations of a busy retail outlet in Lagos, ensuring smooth store functioning, optimal stock levels, and excellent customer service. Reporting to senior management, the role combines staff leadership, inventory control, and sales performance responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day supermarket operations and ensure operational excellence.
• Supervise, train and motivate store staff to meet performance targets.
• Monitor inventory, manage stock replenishment and maintain accurate records.
• Implement attractive merchandising and product displays.
• Drive sales, achieve revenue goals and prepare regular performance reports.
• Handle cash procedures, prevent shrinkage and ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Resolve customer complaints promptly and deliver high‑quality service.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for efficient stock management.

Required profile

• HND or equivalent in Business Administration, Marketing, Management or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing a supermarket or similar retail environment.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• High integrity, accountability and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet business targets.
