Store Manager – Receiving

About the role

The Store Manager – Receiving will lead all receiving activities at the Ibese plant, ensuring timely, safe and accurate receipt, inspection and documentation of incoming materials, spare parts and consumables in line with Dangote Cement policies and HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily receiving operations including off‑loading, checking, inspection, weighing and acceptance of materials.
• Verify deliveries against purchase orders, packing lists and delivery notes, flagging any non‑conformances, shortages, overages or damage and coordinating resolution with Procurement, QA and Logistics.
• Record receipts accurately in the ERP/WMS, prepare Goods Received Notes and transfer documentation to relevant teams.
• Manage the quarantine area for suspect or damaged items and follow disposal or return procedures.
• Plan and oversee staff rostering, training, performance management and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure safe use of material handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes, reporting defects and pausing operations when safety is compromised.
• Coordinate inbound vehicle scheduling with Logistics to minimise congestion and demurrage.
• Maintain a clean, secure and organised receiving bay and filing system.
• Support cycle counts and inventory audits by providing receiving records and reconciliation reports.
• Monitor supplier delivery performance and provide feedback to Purchasing/Procurement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in warehouse or stores receiving operations within heavy industry, manufacturing or cement, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
• Working knowledge of ERP/WMS systems; experience with SAP or Oracle is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, HSE awareness and ability to work under pressure.
