Software Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Software Developer to design, build, and maintain applications that power our Building Energy Management System (BEMS) products. You will work in a fast‑moving early‑stage startup, turning product requirements into reliable, scalable software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications and platforms supporting BEMS products.
• Create and integrate APIs that connect IoT sensor data (HVAC, lighting, power, security) with dashboards and control systems.
• Write clean, scalable, well‑documented code across the backend and/or frontend stack.
• Collaborate with the tech team to translate product requirements into technical specifications.
• Test, debug, and optimise applications for performance, security and reliability.
• Support deployment, monitoring and maintenance of live systems.
• Contribute to architectural and tooling decisions as the product evolves.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–4 years of professional software development experience.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, early‑stage startup environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Python and React (or equivalent modern stack).
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs and real‑time protocols such as MQTT.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Version control using Git and collaborative development workflows.
