About the role

The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) in Abuja is seeking a Senior Nurse to provide advanced nursing care, lead clinical teams, and ensure high‑quality patient experiences. This full‑time position focuses on direct patient care, quality assurance, and mentorship of junior nursing staff within the General Medical & Surgical Services directorate.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Monitor vital signs, medical history, and treatment responses, adjusting care as needed.
• Oversee medication administration and ensure adherence to protocols by junior staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions.
• Champion infection prevention and control measures, enforcing hygiene, sterilisation, and isolation policies.
• Lead quality‑assurance initiatives and mentor junior nurses to foster professional growth.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with senior‑level experience in a hospital setting.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to mentor junior staff.
• Strong commitment to patient safety, infection control, and high standards of care.
• Excellent clinical judgement and ability to develop complex care plans.
