Security Officer

About the role

The Security Officer will safeguard the Hall of Residence by implementing and enforcing security protocols. This full‑time, onsite position requires rapid response to incidents and close collaboration with hall management and external law‑enforcement agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and enforce security protocols to protect residents, staff, valuables and assets.
• Conduct daily inspections and routine patrols around the residence.
• Investigate security breaches, prepare detailed incident reports and submit them to Hall Management.
• Carry out weekly, monthly and annual security audits and provide recommendations.
• Monitor entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized access.
• Lead, guide and supervise the security team, coordinating department activities.
• Liaise with external security agencies and law‑enforcement when required.
• Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, patrol logs and security operations.
• Respond swiftly to emergencies while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a security officer, guard or security supervisor, preferably in residential or institutional settings.
• Strong knowledge of security operations, protocols and emergency response procedures.
• Ability to conduct investigations and produce accurate reports.
• Leadership and supervisory skills to manage security staff.
• High integrity, vigilance and attention to detail.
• Physical fitness to perform patrols and respond quickly to incidents.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
