Security Officer

About the role

The Security Officer will safeguard the CTL Atlantis construction site in Marina, Lagos. You will be the first line of defence, ensuring that only authorised personnel and vehicles access the premises while maintaining a safe environment for staff and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Control and monitor all entry and exit points, verifying identification and authorisation.
• Conduct regular foot patrols of the site perimeter, storage areas and key structures.
• Maintain an accurate occurrence log of incidents, visitors, deliveries and notable events.
• Inspect vehicles entering and leaving the site to prevent unauthorised removal of materials or equipment.
• Protect materials, equipment and company assets from theft, vandalism and damage.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies or alarms and report to the Construction Manager.
• Enforce site rules, including PPE compliance, restricted‑area access and after‑hours protocols.
• Receive, log and notify relevant personnel of all deliveries and visitors.
• Coordinate shift handovers with other security staff, ensuring clear communication of outstanding matters.
• Report suspicious activity, structural vulnerabilities or security risks immediately.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a security role, preferably on a construction site, industrial facility or gated estate.
• Valid security licence or certification from a recognised Nigerian training institution.
• Physically fit for foot patrols, standing for long periods and rapid emergency response.
• Good literacy and numeracy to produce clear occurrence log entries.
• Alert, observant and able to remain focused during long or overnight shifts.
• Honest, trustworthy with verifiable references and a background check.
• Calm under pressure with the ability to de‑escalate situations professionally.
• Full availability for shift‑based work, including nights, weekends and public holidays on a rotating roster.
