Remote Maths Expert for LLM Evaluation (Short‑term Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified mathematics expert to design and solve challenging problems that evaluate large language models. This short‑term remote contract involves creating detailed, step‑by‑step solutions and collaborating with researchers on benchmark development.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve advanced mathematics problems for LLM evaluation.
• Produce clear, step‑by‑step solutions with thorough reasoning.
• Collaborate with LLM researchers to develop and refine evaluation benchmarks.
• Help define new benchmarks covering undergraduate to PhD‑level mathematics.
• Analyze complex mathematical tasks using logical, structured approaches.
• Explain concepts using simple language, visuals, and examples.

Required profile

• Master’s, Ph.D., or currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong research, analytical, and creative problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a remote environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: Magma, Macaulay2, Singular, GAP, SageMath, Polymake, 4ti2, LattE, DIPHA, PHAT, AUTO-07P, XPPAUT, Perseus, Stan, PyMC, OR-Tools, Z3, PARI/GP, fpLLL.
