Procurement Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Manager to lead the sourcing and purchasing activities for our construction plant in Lagos. The role focuses on securing raw materials, packaging, spare parts and critical services while driving cost efficiencies and ensuring supply continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a procurement strategy for raw materials, chemicals, packaging and services, covering supplier identification, qualification, RFQ/RFP, negotiation and contracting.
• Manage supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews and audits, and implement risk mitigation plans for critical categories.
• Prepare and monitor the procurement budget, track expenditures, report savings and ensure compliance with company policies and Nigerian regulations.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality assurance, logistics and warehouse teams to align material requirements, optimise inventory levels and support new product development.
• Lead, mentor and develop the procurement team, promote continuous improvement and champion sustainable, ethical sourcing practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within manufacturing, industrial or construction materials environments.
• Proven track record in sourcing raw materials for building materials, cement, chemicals or related heavy industries.
