Power Systems Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a senior Power Systems Engineer to design, implement and manage complex IBM Power environments for our clients in Lagos. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance and security of mission‑critical ERP systems on IBM Power platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deploy IBM Power Systems stacks, including PowerVM and Virtual I/O Server (VIOS).
• Administer IBM AIX operating systems and manage hardware via Hardware Management Consoles (HMC).
• Integrate and optimise storage solutions such as Dell EMC PowerMax, IBM FlashSystem and IBM DS Series for SAN performance.
• Architect high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions using PowerHA or MIMIX.
• Develop infrastructure‑as‑code and automation scripts, primarily with Ansible.
• Provide escalation support and mentorship to junior engineers, troubleshooting performance bottlenecks and outages.

Required profile

• 5‑10+ years of experience administering IBM AIX and Power Systems environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of ITIL processes, incident and change management, and security compliance.
• Relevant certifications such as IBM Certified System Administrator (AIX), IBM PowerVM, Power Systems, ITIL Foundation and Red Hat RHCSA are highly valued.
