Operations Manager – Procurement & Logistics

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead and coordinate day‑to‑day activities across procurement, sourcing, logistics and pricing to ensure seamless delivery of engineering materials and equipment. Reporting to senior management, you will oversee supplier relationships, inventory management and operational processes to meet the company’s commercial and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee operational activities in procurement, sourcing, logistics, pricing and inventory.
• Lead cross‑functional teams responsible for sourcing, procurement, logistics and pricing.
• Manage supplier selection, evaluation, negotiation, performance monitoring and issue resolution.
• Coordinate with local and international suppliers to ensure timely delivery of engineering materials and equipment.
• Monitor supplier lead times, delivery schedules, quality and overall performance.
• Handle shipping, logistics, clearing and delivery to ensure efficient movement of goods.
• Review supplier quotations and support cost‑effective pricing strategies.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure availability of required engineering spares.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve operational processes and procedures.
• Establish and track operational KPIs to improve efficiency, productivity and service delivery.
• Identify operational challenges and implement solutions to minimise delays and costs.
• Collaborate with management and other departments to ensure smooth end‑to‑end order fulfilment.
• Align operational activities with company objectives, quality standards and commercial targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar leadership role (minimum 5 years).
• Experience in engineering procurement, engineering services, industrial equipment or related technical companies.
• Strong technical knowledge of engineering spares, industrial equipment and engineering products.
• Solid understanding of procurement and sourcing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage suppliers, including selection, negotiation and performance management.
• Good knowledge of logistics planning, shipping coordination and inventory management.
• Commercial acumen with experience reviewing quotations and negotiating prices.
• Proven leadership, communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
