Merchant Acquisition Officer

About the role

The Merchant Acquisition Officer will be responsible for identifying, engaging and onboarding high‑quality merchants onto our e‑commerce platform. This contract role focuses on expanding product variety and driving transaction volume by bringing active sellers from other online channels onto our marketplace.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prospect active merchants operating on existing e‑commerce platforms, social media stores and online marketplaces.
• Engage and onboard qualified merchants onto the company's e‑commerce platform.
• Conduct merchant due diligence to ensure quality, credibility and business viability.
• Build and maintain relationships with merchants to drive platform adoption and activity.
• Educate merchants on platform features, benefits and onboarding requirements.
• Support merchants during registration, product listing and activation processes.
• Monitor merchant performance and encourage continuous sales activity.
• Maintain accurate records of leads, onboarded merchants and conversion metrics.
• Provide market intelligence and competitor insights to management.

Required profile

• At least 1 month of experience in merchant acquisition, sales or e‑commerce.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to conduct due‑diligence and assess merchant credibility.
• Results‑oriented mindset with focus on meeting acquisition KPIs.
