Mechanical Supervisor

About the role

The Mechanical Supervisor will lead all mechanical installation activities for fire protection systems on construction sites in Lagos. This role ensures that fire sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, pump, and suppression installations are carried out safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation of fire sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, fire pump, fire suppression systems and associated mechanical piping and supports.
• Allocate daily tasks to welders, pipe fitters, technicians and subcontractors, and conduct toolbox meetings.
• Inspect workmanship, verify compliance with drawings, and coordinate pressure testing, flushing and commissioning.
• Review BOQs, monitor material usage, raise Material Requisition Forms and reconcile issued materials.
• Maintain tools and equipment, report faults and ensure safe storage.
• Enforce HSE policies, ensure PPE use and stop unsafe work.
• Collaborate with project engineers, electrical supervisors, procurement, warehouse and QA/QC teams.
• Prepare daily and weekly progress, material consumption, manpower and equipment status reports.

Required profile

• BSc degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years experience supervising mechanical installations in the fire protection sector.
