About the role
We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join the British Council’s team of Life Skills Examiners in Nigeria. The role involves delivering language assessment sessions for IELTS and other Life Skills examinations across Abuja and Lagos.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct at least ten examination sessions per year at regular intervals.
- Adhere to the Code of Practice and Confidentiality Undertaking and follow directives from the Centre Administrator and Life Skills Examiner Trainer.
Required profile
- Undergraduate or Master’s degree, or an equivalent qualification.
- Recognised TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) qualification or equivalent.
- Minimum three years of full‑time (or equivalent part‑time) TESOL teaching experience, primarily with adult learners (16+ years).
- Professional attributes such as accuracy, professionalism, effective communication, cultural sensitivity, confidentiality, and responsiveness to guidance.
- Existing right to live and work in Nigeria.
