Laboratory Officer

About the role

The Laboratory Officer will join Sika’s Nigerian manufacturing site to conduct daily concrete mix design trials for new admixtures and provide technical support to customers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform concrete mix trials and record test results for new admixture products.
• Log, analyse and report laboratory data in a timely manner.
• Assist R&D in formulating and developing new construction‑chemical products.
• Support customers on‑site with technical queries and help resolve complaints.
• Collaborate with the sales team to train customers, applicators and distributors.
• Assist the Quality Control officer with routine QC testing.
• Ensure safe handling of chemicals and compliance with EHS standards in the laboratory.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in concrete testing.
• Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
• Good knowledge of construction chemicals and mix design principles.

Required skills

• Concrete mix design and laboratory testing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using ERP systems, preferably SAP.
