Kitchen Assistant

About the role

The Kitchen Assistant supports the daily operations of the kitchen at Clearview Professional Consults Ltd in Marina, Lagos. You will work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure a clean, well‑stocked, and efficiently run kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform morning cleaning of kitchen work surfaces, utensils, and equipment before service starts.
• Assist in checking, organising, and restocking kitchen ingredients and supplies.
• Wash, peel, cut, slice and chop vegetables and other ingredients as required.
• Prepare garnishes and basic ingredients needed by chefs for daily service.
• Support general food preparation and mise en place before and during service.
• Maintain proper storage, organisation, and hygiene of all kitchen items.
• Follow food‑handling, hygiene and safety procedures at all times.
• Minimise food waste and handle ingredients responsibly.
• Provide assistance during busy service periods and perform other kitchen‑related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum academic qualification of SSCE or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant, Kitchen Porter, Prep Assistant or similar hospitality role is an advantage.
• Good understanding of kitchen cleanliness and basic food hygiene.
• Ability to follow instructions, work under supervision and handle a fast‑paced environment.
• Hardworking, organised, punctual, reliable and physically capable of kitchen duties.
• Willingness to work Tuesday to Sunday with Monday off and flexibility for shift work.
• Residence in Victoria Island or nearby areas preferred due to lack of staff accommodation.

Required skills

• Basic food preparation techniques (washing, peeling, chopping vegetables).

What we offer

• Monthly salary of NGN 80,000.
• Transport allowance of NGN 20,000 per month.
