Java Software Engineer (Hybrid, Lagos)

About the role

Crown Interactive is seeking a senior Java Software Engineer to join its hybrid team in Lagos. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise‑level SaaS applications while collaborating closely with product managers and designers to deliver high‑quality solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based software applications and RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to translate requirements into technical specifications.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and conduct code reviews.
• Lead and mentor junior developers, delegating routine tasks and overseeing testing and deployment.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Plan and execute feature deployments, monitor integrations, and maintain systems throughout their lifecycle.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in Java software development.
• Proven ability to lead a team and mentor junior engineers.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.
