Healthcare Assistant

About the role

The Healthcare Assistant will provide direct patient care and support clinical staff in a fast‑paced medical environment. You will help maintain a safe, clean, and compassionate setting for patients and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight and blood glucose when trained.
• Support nurses and doctors during examinations, treatments and minor procedures.
• Prepare patients for consultations, investigations and medical procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of patient care areas and ensure infection‑prevention protocols are followed.
• Help with patient mobility, transfers and transportation within the facility.
• Observe patient conditions and promptly report any changes to supervising healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage medical supplies, reporting shortages as needed.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Healthcare Assistance, Community Health, Nursing Assistant or a related field.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or First Aid certification is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a hospital, clinic or similar setting is preferred.
• Good communication, interpersonal skills and physical fitness for patient‑care activities.
