Head, Retail Sales

About the role

The Head of Retail Sales will lead the bank’s retail distribution channels, driving growth in deposits, loans and other financial products. Reporting to senior management, this role combines strategic planning, team leadership and regulatory compliance to expand the customer base across Lagos.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute retail sales strategies to meet and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
• Identify new market opportunities and expand the bank’s retail customer base.
• Lead, coach and evaluate the performance of the retail sales team.
• Drive customer acquisition, retention initiatives and ensure excellent service across all channels.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies, implementing controls to mitigate operational and credit risks.
• Prepare regular sales reports and analytics to inform senior management decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• MBA or professional certification is an advantage.
• 6–10 years of experience in retail banking, micro‑finance or financial services.
• At least 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
