Hardware Engineer – Repair Centre

About the role

The Hardware Engineer (Repair Centre) acts as the technical authority within Moni​point’s repair centre, bridging hands‑on repair work with engineering‑level quality governance. The role ensures every repaired terminal is fit for redeployment, continuously improves technician capability, and eliminates quality failures through root‑cause analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver structured onboarding and ongoing training for repair technicians, covering terminal architecture, fault patterns, repair procedures, ESD discipline, and tool usage.
• Maintain a Technician Skills Matrix, track competency per model, and provide real‑time technical training.
• Analyse QA rejections and rework data, identify trends, and investigate recurring issues related to skills, parts, tools, or procedures.
• Escalate systemic problems to the Hardware Engineering Manager and document corrective actions.
• Serve as first‑line technical escalation for unresolved faults, guide diagnosis of complex issues, and decide on repair, reroute, or deprecation.
• Liaise with OEM evaluation teams and spare‑part procurement on component or firmware‑related problems.
• Own repair centre quality metrics such as rework rate and overall repair quality.
