Group Finance & Audit Officer

About the role

The Group Finance & Audit Officer ensures financial discipline, transparency and accountability across all companies within the Fieldbase Group. Reporting directly to the Group Managing Director, the role provides independent oversight of financial performance, internal controls, compliance and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Review monthly financial performance of each Group company, challenge unusual expenditures and monitor cash flow.
• Produce a monthly Group financial review for the Managing Director.
• Develop and operate an internal audit programme covering financial controls, procurement, expense claims, inventory, project profitability and segregation of duties.
• Identify financial risks, investigate irregularities and recommend improvements to strengthen controls.
• Ensure consistent financial policies, monitor delegated spending limits and verify documentation supporting transactions.
• Compare actual performance against budgets, explain variances and track cost‑saving initiatives.
• Work with local finance teams to ensure compliance with tax regulations, accounting standards, statutory reporting and regulatory filings.
• Prepare financial analyses such as profitability, cost, pricing reviews, investment appraisals, cash‑flow forecasts and scenario modelling.
• Provide the Managing Director with independent insight on emerging risks, profitability opportunities and major commercial decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience overseeing finance and internal audit functions across multiple entities.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, cash‑flow management and risk identification.
• Ability to review and improve financial controls, procurement processes and expense management.
• Experience ensuring compliance with tax, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Capability to produce clear financial reviews and support strategic decision‑making for senior leadership.
