Founding Sales Manager

About the role

Hire Africa is seeking an experienced, hands‑on sales leader to build and run its outbound sales function from the ground up. As the first senior sales hire, you will design, test, and execute a complete sales process, delivering early results while laying the foundation for a scalable team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the outbound sales strategy and end‑to‑end process for Hire Africa.
• Define ideal customer profiles, target markets, and reliable lead‑generation systems.
• Write, test, and optimise email, LinkedIn, and calling sequences.
• Manage prospects from initial contact through discovery calls, demos, negotiations, and closing.
• Create repeatable follow‑up, pipeline‑management, and reporting processes.
• Track conversion metrics and continuously improve performance at each stage.
• Achieve personal sales targets before expanding to a broader sales team.
• Recruit, train, and manage future sales representatives.
• Collaborate directly with the founder and broader team to refine the product offering and go‑to‑market strategy.

Required profile

• Minimum seven years of sales experience, including at least three years in a senior or leadership role.
• Proven track record of building or significantly improving an outbound sales process.
• Demonstrated ability to own the full sales cycle—from lead generation to closing.
• Consistent record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
• Comfort selling to founders, business owners, and senior decision‑makers.
• Self‑starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Thrives in an early‑stage, fast‑moving environment where speed, ownership, and adaptability are essential.
