Field Security Associate

About the role

The International Organization for Migration is seeking a Field Security Associate to support security and safety functions at its Benin City field office. Working under the Field Security Officer, the associate will help manage security risks and promote a secure environment for staff and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain effective working relationships with the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), host‑government agencies and local authorities to obtain up‑to‑date security information.
• Assist the Field Security Officer in collecting, updating and communicating security situation reports for Benin City.
• Support the development and implementation of office‑specific security plans, contingency and emergency response procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Help raise security awareness among staff and ensure compliance with IOM security policies.

Required profile

• Experience or strong interest in security risk management, preferably in an international or humanitarian context.
• Ability to work under supervision of the Field Security Officer and collaborate with UN and local security partners.
• Strong communication and reporting abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of security information gathering and reporting.
• Familiarity with contingency planning and emergency response protocols.
