Export Freight Forwarding Officer

About the role

We are seeking an Export Freight Forwarding Officer to manage export shipments from Nigeria, overseeing the process from booking to vessel departure and ensuring smooth coordination with all parties. The role involves handling documentation, liaising with shipping lines, customs agents and providing timely updates to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage export shipments from booking through vessel departure, ensuring timely execution.
• Arrange shipping bookings, container pickup, trucking, and cargo loading.
• Prepare and verify export documents (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, NXP, Bill of Lading, Shipping Instructions).
• Coordinate with shipping lines, customs agents, trucking companies and overseas partners, and provide shipment status updates to customers.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in export freight forwarding or international logistics.
• Hands‑on experience with Nigerian export procedures, documentation and ports such as Apapa, Tin Can or Lekki.
• Good knowledge of shipping terms (FCL, LCL, Booking, BL, SI, ETD, ETA, Cut‑off, Demurrage, Detention).
• Strong English communication skills and ability to handle multiple shipments independently.
