Educational Editor

About the role

We are looking for an Educational Editor to join our publishing team in Lagos. The role involves polishing educational manuscripts to ensure they are clear, accurate and aligned with the Nigerian curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Edit and proofread manuscripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure.
• Ensure content is well‑organized, consistent and properly formatted.
• Verify facts, examples, exercises and answers where required.
• Use Microsoft Word Track Changes and Comments to make corrections and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with authors, graphic designers and editorial staff.
• Deliver assigned projects within agreed deadlines.

Required profile

• A degree in English, Education, Linguistics or a related field.
• Minimum two years of editing or proofreading experience, preferably with textbooks or academic materials.
• Strong command of written English and good knowledge of the Nigerian educational curriculum.
• Excellent research, fact‑checking and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, especially Track Changes and Comments.
