Special Education Teacher/Therapist

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher/Therapist to join our team in Abuja. The role involves delivering tailored instruction and therapeutic support to students with learning difficulties, fostering both academic and life‑skill development.

Key responsibilities

• Assess each student’s abilities and design individualized teaching plans.
• Adapt learning materials and activities (e.g., drawing, bead making, outdoor sports) to meet diverse needs.
• Monitor progress, track behavioural patterns, and implement appropriate interventions.
• Manage classroom crises, resolve conflicts, and promote a safe learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents about performance, challenges, and development plans.
• Coach and mentor support staff working with the students.

Required profile

• Minimum academic qualification of BEd, BSc or BA in special education, psychology, or a related field.
• At least one year of relevant experience or a demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
• Strong knowledge of current special‑education methodologies and experience creating IEPs.
• Patient, honest, resourceful, and resilient personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
