Dietitian

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Dietitian to join our hospital nutrition team in Lagos. The role involves providing clinical nutrition care, counseling, and education to patients across a range of medical conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Review patient records, labs, medications and dietary history to assess nutritional status.
• Diagnose nutrition problems and develop evidence‑based care plans aligned with physicians’ treatment goals.
• Provide one‑on‑one counseling on therapeutic diets, food‑drug interactions and lifestyle changes.
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes in the hospital EHR system and ensure compliance with NHIA and hospital protocols.
• Participate in ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings and coordinate with the kitchen to ensure correct therapeutic meals.
• Conduct staff training, patient education sessions and contribute to quality‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• BSc in Dietetics, Human Nutrition & Dietetics, or Nutrition with a dietetics specialization from an accredited university.
• License to practice from the Health Professions Council of Nigeria and completed NYSC certificate.
• 1‑3 years of hospital or clinical experience preferred; fresh graduates with a tertiary‑hospital internship are also considered.
• Experience with enteral or parenteral nutrition is an advantage for ICU or surgical wards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using meal‑planning software.
