Data Science Instructor

About the role

The Data Science Instructor will join Lagos Data School to design and deliver hands‑on data science training for professionals. Based on‑site in Lagos, the role focuses on teaching core concepts in statistics, programming, and applied analytics using engaging, learner‑centered methods.

Key responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans, instructional materials and practical lab exercises.
• Deliver lectures and supervised lab sessions covering data analysis, visualization, and machine‑learning techniques.
• Assess learner performance, provide timely feedback and support.
• Update course content to reflect the latest industry tools and practices.
• Mentor participants on projects, career pathways and professional development.
• Collaborate with the academic team to continuously improve curriculum quality and teaching standards.

Required profile

• Applied knowledge of data‑science concepts and tools.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field.
• Ability to explain complex technical topics in clear, accessible language.
• Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills with a learner‑centered approach.
• Experience training adult or professional learners and familiarity with project‑based teaching.
