About the role

Join Infrapick Ltd as a Data Center Site Intelligence Research Intern and help build the first Data Center Development Intelligence Dataset for the Lagos–Ogun corridor. Over an 8‑week paid programme you will conduct in‑depth desktop research and occasional field validation to create a structured baseline of infrastructure intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a structured intelligence baseline for the assigned development corridor across five dimensions: Power Infrastructure, Fiber & Connectivity, Flood & Natural Risk, Land & Accessibility, and Regulatory & Environmental.
• Perform desktop research using government publications, utility data, GIS and satellite imagery, planning documents, and recognised infrastructure databases.
• Validate critical data points on‑site when desktop sources cannot resolve information gaps.
• Apply the Infrapick Site Intelligence Data Collection Framework to ensure consistency across all corridors.
• Consolidate and compare findings with other interns to produce a comprehensive dataset.

Required profile

• Students or recent graduates in Electrical/Power Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, GIS/Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering/Sciences, Urban & Regional Planning, or related infrastructure disciplines.
• Rigorous, curious, and comfortable conducting investigative research.
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in English.
• Attention to source reliability and comfort with technical information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets for data handling.
• Experience using QGIS (or comparable GIS software) for spatial analysis.
