About the role
The Credit Officer will prospect and acquire new loan and savings clients, assess loan applications, and manage the credit portfolio to minimise risk. This role involves both client acquisition and post‑disbursement monitoring to ensure proper utilisation of funds.
Key responsibilities
- Prospect for and acquire new loan and savings clients within assigned markets.
- Conduct preliminary assessments of loan applications and verify client businesses and addresses.
- Assess cash flows, working capital, repayment capacity and creditworthiness of clients.
- Recommend loan amounts, tenors and repayment structures based on appraisal findings.
- Monitor clients after disbursement, follow up repayments and take action on missed instalments.
- Maintain a healthy portfolio, minimise Portfolio at Risk (PAR) and achieve loan, client‑acquisition and deposit targets.
Required profile
- Minimum qualification of SSCE.
- At least 1 year of previous experience in a similar credit or loan role.
