Construction Manager

About the role

The Construction Manager will hold overall on‑site authority for all construction activities across multiple residential blocks and external works in Lagos. Reporting directly to the Project Director, you will lead daily coordination, manage subcontractors, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Chair daily site coordination meetings with Zone Construction Managers, Programme and MEP Managers, and Site Engineers.
• Manage all subcontract crews, review and approve method statements before work commences.
• Monitor daily progress against the look‑ahead plan and flag delay risks immediately.
• Oversee site logistics in partnership with the Site Logistics Coordinator.
• Resolve on‑site conflicts, make binding decisions on sequencing and temporary works.
• Ensure quality hold points are met and approve concrete pours only after sign‑off.
• Enforce the HSE plan and support a zero‑harm culture.
• Approve subcontractor labour and plant returns for commercial management.
• Produce daily site reports and brief the Project Director on status.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Professional registration with NSE or NIOB preferred; COREN registration beneficial.
• Minimum 10 years of construction experience, especially managing multi‑building residential projects in Lagos.
• Strong authority and ability to command a large, diverse workforce.
• Decisive decision‑making under pressure and excellent situational awareness.
• Zero tolerance for HSE non‑compliance.
