CNC Machine Operator

About the role

The CNC Machine Operator will work on the shop floor in Gbagada, Lagos, translating blueprints and dimensions into precise machine operations. You will be responsible for setting up, running, and maintaining CNC equipment to ensure high‑quality production output.

Key responsibilities

• Align, load, and operate CNC machines according to technical drawings.
• Adjust operating speed, control load, and set up material handling equipment.
• Monitor production to verify that finished components meet quality and quantity standards.
• Perform routine lubrication, greasing, and cleaning of machines.
• Inspect parts with precision measuring tools and record approved and defective units.
• Conduct minor system upgrades, recalibrate equipment, and maintain activity logs.
• Identify and discard defective goods, manage packaging supplies, and ensure adequate material availability.
• Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns, perform spot inspections, and report machine efficiency to supervisors.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of proven experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Relevant certifications such as Precision Sheet Metal Operator (PSMO) or CNC certification are a plus.
