Civil Project Engineer

About the role

Kents Marvel Ltd is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects in Lagos. The role combines technical design, budgeting, and on‑site supervision to ensure projects meet quality, safety, and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies by analysing site surveys, maps and soil reports.
• Produce detailed CAD drawings, technical specifications and structural load calculations.
• Prepare cost estimates, tender documents and support the contractor bidding process.
• Supervise site activities, enforce OSHA safety standards and perform quality checks.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, subcontractors and regulatory bodies.
• Develop and maintain project schedules using PERT‑CPM methodology.
• Resolve engineering challenges and adjust designs as site conditions evolve.
• Manage contractor quotations, method statements, variation orders and progress billing.
• Handle RFIs, submittals, as‑built drawings and ensure compliance with permits, zoning and building codes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction, engineering, project coordination, estimating or contract administration.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications and documentation.
• Proficiency with construction contracts, scope management and change orders.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (cost tracking, budgeting, pivot tables, lookups).
• Project scheduling techniques such as PERT‑CPM.
