Chief Product Officer

About the role

The Chief Product Officer will own the product vision and roadmap for a fast‑growing fintech platform. Reporting to the founding team, you will drive the product from launch through scale, ensuring reliability and regulatory compliance in a dynamic African market.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the product roadmap in line with business objectives.
• Translate the company vision into clear, prioritized product initiatives.
• Own day‑to‑day product delivery, iteration cycles and release quality.
• Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure timely, high‑quality releases.
• Identify and resolve technical, operational or external blockers swiftly.
• Guarantee product reliability, especially for transaction and settlement flows.
• Work with banking and compliance partners to address integration challenges.
• Analyze user behaviour and transaction data to improve conversion, retention and experience.
• Build and lead a high‑performing product team, establishing structure, processes and performance tracking.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading products in a fintech or payments environment.
• Strong understanding of payments infrastructure, cross‑border transactions and banking integrations.
• Hands‑on operator comfortable with ambiguity and rapid execution.
• Track record of taking products from launch to scale, preferably in emerging markets.
• Familiarity with regulatory environments, KYC and compliance workflows.
