Chief Executive Officer – Impact Investing & Development Finance

About the role

The organisation is a leading national impact‑investing ecosystem‑building non‑profit in Nigeria. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Chief Executive Officer will lead the secretariat and national advisory programme, shaping the trajectory of an emerging asset class at the intersection of policy, capital and enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Set and drive the strategic direction to build a credible, well‑governed Nigerian impact‑investing ecosystem.
• Represent the organisation as the national voice for impact investing within global and pan‑African networks.
• Convene and align government, private sector and civil‑society stakeholders around shared ecosystem priorities.
• Engage financial and pensions regulators to advance an enabling policy and regulatory environment.
• Lead policy‑advocacy efforts that translate ecosystem needs into legislative outcomes.
• Secure and sustain funding by leading fundraising and donor‑relationship management.
• Cultivate partnerships with development partners, institutional donors and private capital providers.
• Provide executive oversight of core programmes, ensuring measurable impact and transparent reporting.
• Lead and develop the secretariat team, fostering strong governance and organisational leadership.

Required profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience, preferably in impact investing, development finance or related non‑profit sectors.
• Proven track record in fundraising, donor engagement and resource mobilisation.
• Demonstrated ability to influence policy and work effectively with government regulators.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills across public, private and civil‑society domains.
• Experience overseeing multi‑programme portfolios and delivering measurable outcomes.
